The health and wellbeing of our friends and community members being of the utmost importance, the Calhoun Woman’s Club is rescheduling the Sequoyah Ball to a later date when the coronavirus is no longer a possible threat locally and our country is no longer under a national state of emergency.

We are extraordinarily grateful for all of our sponsors and for those who have already purchased tickets for the ball. The venue management at 209 on Wall Street, Joe Sowell with Elegant Catering and Harlan Rice with the Dexter Thomas Band are absolutely amazing and are holding our contracts and honoring them in full for our new event date, when decided. The tickets already purchased will remain valid, and we will open ticket sales again when the new event date has been set.

We are grateful also for the many silent and live auction items that have been donated. The businesses and individuals in our community are unrivaled in their supportiveness. Please consider how you can help the VAC in the short term, as both of the major fundraising events planned to assist with their renovations and expanded meal program have been postponed, and there are many people in our community who will still need food in the interim. The silent and live auction items we have received already will be held safely and will be awaiting your bids on the evening of the rescheduled ball. We will announce the new date when we can celebrate with you the passing of this pandemic.

Life may slow down the next few weeks. Hope you all have a good book or movie and can enjoy time with your families. Stay safe.

Thank you so much for your understanding and support.
