Our Programs

Our club works within six service areas which we call Community Service Programs (“CSP”).  Each Community Service Program has an area where club members work to improve their communities through different projects.  Together, we work to improve our communities and better our world.  Calhoun Woman’s Club is engage and very active in our community, below please find a list of just a few of our charitable activities.  Click underlined text to visit partner websites.

Arts Community Service Program: Mission: Encourage members to create and contribute to arts education and activities in all communities.

Art projects and charities we have been involved with are:

                • Harris Art Center –Each year we host a Quick Draw Event held at the Harris Arts Center

Conservation Community Service Program:  Mission: Educate members about the importance and benefits of beautifying their communities.

Education Community Service Program: Mission: Promote a commitment to lifelong learning by encouraging members and others to foster and support educational opportunities in their communities.

International Outreach Program: Mission: Educate members and communities about global topics and provide opportunities to support and contribute to world issues

Public Issues Community Service Program: Mission: Educate members and others about the importance of active citizenship, and encourage participation in related activities. Educate members and others about community, home and vehicle safety issues, and encourage citizen action on these issues.

GFWC Georgia’s State President, Tina Daniel has chosen Girl Scouts as her signature project.  Girl Scouts offers the best leadership development experience for girls in the world.  Girl Scouts unleashes the G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ in every girl, preparing her for a lifetime of leadership—from taking a night-time hike under the stars to accepting a mission on the International Space Station; from lobbying the city council with her troop to holding a seat in Congress; from running her own cookie business today to tackling cybersecurity tomorrow.  We believe that Girls Scouts are our future members and leaders of this organization and country.  https://www.girlscouts.org/

GFWC Advancement Areas

Advancement areas are defined as internal leadership within our local club.  This particular service area is heartbeat of our club and keeps us thriving within the community.  This area is always an educational and personal growth area for us, our members continue to learn new technology in an effort to assist our club with our marketing, recruiting, fundraising  and leadership efforts.  These programs not only benefit our clubs but they benefit our members by learning new leadership skills in an ever-changing technology driven world.  They include:
