We are excited to announce the date for the Sequoyah Ball: March 28th, 2020 at 6pm. The Voluntary Action Center will be the recipient of the proceeds from the Sequoyah Ball this year.
About the Sequoyah Ball
In 2019 the Calhoun Woman’s Club was excited to announce the return of their Sequoyah Ball. After a five-year hiatus, the club recently decided to resurrect the old tradition which began in 1988.
History shows that since 1902 The Calhoun Woman’s Club has been heavily involved in the community, working with organizations such as the Harris Arts Center, the Boys and Girls Club, the American Red Cross, the Voluntary Action Center, Habitat for Humanity and the Calhoun Library, which is only the beginning of the list. Today we also provide three scholarships to deserving local high school seniors each year upon their graduation.
The Harris Arts Center is happy to partner with the Calhoun Woman’s Club to host Calhoun’s Quick Draw Art Auction for the second year. Beginning at 6:30p.m. on Thursday, February 6, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and wine as locals create unique pieces of art in 50 minutes. Some of our locals are talented, trained artists, while other well-known personalities will be working on their first “masterpiece”. No matter their level of talent, all participants are excited to support the arts!
Completed artwork will be available for silent auction until 8:30p.m. the evening of the event. Proceeds will benefit the Calhoun Woman’s Club Sequoyah Ball and the Harris Arts Center. Admission is a suggested donation of $5 at the door
